Hello

My name is Margaret Harden Brown

The idea for With Angels as Witness began as a question asked several years ago in a Sunday School class. The question stuck with me and, after much thought over several years, turned into an answer. My answer became the basis for a short story which, in turn, became the first chapter of the book.

I didn’t know I was writing a book. I just kept writing more short stories and developing my angel characters until one day I realized I had written over thirty thousand words. Then I got serious.

In the end, I found myself with several three-ring binders full of notes from my research and Bible studies and a novel about the angels who watched over the ministry of the Messiah. I can tell you, I laughed aloud and cried salty tears as I wrote about my angels. Now I hope you will read about Gabe, Michael, and the other angels and come to know and love them too.

With Angels as Witness

Every angel in the Realm knows that the long-awaited Messiah is coming very soon. And they know because all the angel choirs have been practicing their songs of praise and adoration—they’ve been practicing a lot.

There’s just one problem. The big event won’t happen until Gabe completes his latest assignment, and he’s run into a spot of trouble.

Will Gabe insist on making this special announcement the way he’s always done it before? Or will he listen to the advice of his friends and adapt to the situation? With angels as witness to God’s unfolding plan, what could possibly go wrong?

With Angels as Witness is actually two stories intertwined into one; the Gospel story of Jesus alongside the fictional tale of the angels who are observing, critiquing, and sometimes obsessing about what is happening to their beloved Messiah.

Scriptural references and discussion questions are provided to encourage readers to give new thought and curiosity to what the Bible tells us.

“The book tells the story of Jesus’ life from a perspective I would never have imagined. I was surprised at how many events in the bible included angels. The language was perfect, the flow was smooth, and the images were well crafted. I liked the scriptural notes and the way you brought the ending full circle back to the first of the story.”
